Note to Resident Advocates and Volunteers: This site makes it easy for Resident Advocates, Supervisory Community Lawyers, and BYU/UVU volunteers to schedule a time when they will observe, team-teach, or lead a presentation on law and life skills at Slate Canyon Youth Center in one of the 3 short-term detention units. Further, this site makes it easy for Resident Advocates and Supervisory Community Lawyers to choose a lesson plan.
You will be allowed to sign up on a first-come, first-serve basis. This means that your first choice for day/time or for a particular lesson plan may not be available.
Your name and other identifying information will be kept private and will be visible only to the website administrator.
Prerequisites for Volunteers: Before you continue, note that you must be at least 21 years old and have completed the Bureau of Criminal Identification in order to volunteer. If you do not satisfy both of these prerequisites, you may not volunteer at Slate Canyon Youth Center.
